COVID-19 Questions and Concerns

Dear Integrative Oral Medicine Patients,

As we all navigate this challenging time, we want to be here for you as a safe and reliable source of information and dental care. Dr. Thompson has been studying what reliable experts know about COVID-19 and we’d like to share some information with you.

We care deeply about our patients and team, and our goal every day is to prevent any transmission of communicable diseases, employing universal precautions. We continue to diligently follow CDC guidelines for infection control and are taking extra precautions to clean and disinfect our reception and treatment room surfaces including door handles.

To further mitigate risk – we ask that if you have a scheduled dental appointment and you have symptoms of a respiratory infection (fever, sore throat, coughing and/or sneezing), that you call us to postpone your appointment. If you are infected with COVID-19 and emergency dental treatment is necessary, please call Dr. Thompson directly on his cell phone to determine the appropriate actions and/or precautions on an individual basis.

As always, we encourage you to keep your bodies as healthy and resilient as possible to avoid contracting the virus and/or minimize effects if you are exposed. Keep in mind – as Dr. Thompson teaches in his courses – the disease is not just about the microbes, but how your individual body reacts to them. We encourage you to: get quality sleep, properly hydrate, eat whole foods, get outside, exercise, avoid smoking, remain connected to family and support networks, and reduce your stress level as much as possible.

Please know you can reach out to Dr. Thompson personally with your unanswered questions or to discuss individual or special situations.

Warm regards,

Dr. Thompson and the IOM Team
